{"id":765,"date":"2017-03-29T15:42:42","date_gmt":"2017-03-29T21:42:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kevinjustin.com\/blog\/?p=765"},"modified":"2019-12-20T10:10:26","modified_gmt":"2019-12-20T14:10:26","slug":"office-365-scom-run-as-account","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kevinjustin.com\/blog\/2017\/03\/29\/office-365-scom-run-as-account\/","title":{"rendered":"Troubleshoot Office 365 SCOM MP Run As account"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Run As Account<\/h1>\n<p>The Office 365 Run As account is used for Proxy access for an HTTPS connection from SCOM MS to Office 365 portal endpoint.<\/p>\n<p>Must be a domain account, not an Azure account (particularly if they &#8216;re not the same tenant or AAD associated<\/p>\n<p>Service Accounts are recommended to prevent impact should an employee leave<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SCOM uses a domain account (example scom_action ID)<\/p>\n<p>Verify that ID is in Azure tenant (contact your Azure Administrator if you don&#8217;t have access )<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-767 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/kevinjustin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/O365ApplicationAzureIDVerify.PNG\" alt=\"o365applicationazureidverify\" width=\"936\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To follow best practice, update the Run As account with the\u00a0service account<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-715\" src=\"https:\/\/kevinjustin.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/O365ApplicationSCOMRunAsCredential.PNG\" alt=\"o365applicationscomrunascredential\" width=\"300\" height=\"298\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Verify Run As account<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On SCOM console that there are no Operations Manager event log 7000 events for the &#8216;run as&#8217; configured ID<\/p>\n<p>Remote Desktop to SCOM MS Server<\/p>\n<p>Verify if the &#8216;run as&#8217; ID has a valid password<\/p>\n<p>Look in the Operations Manager Event Log for Event ID 7000<\/p>\n<p>Click on Find<\/p>\n<p>Type in the user&#8217;s ID from the &#8216;run as&#8217; account in SCOM<\/p>\n<p>If no entries found, then ID is successfully authenticating against the domain<\/p>\n<p>If errors found, correct ID\/Password<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Run As Account The Office 365 Run As account is used for Proxy access for an HTTPS connection from SCOM MS to Office 365 portal endpoint.
